==== LP National: ====

* Governed by the Libertarian National Committee (LNC) which is comprised of the party officers (Chair, Vice-Chair, Treasurer, and Secretary), regional representatives, and at-large members.

* The LNC operates under the Roberts Rules of Order, so familiarize yourself with its procedures: RROR Cheat Sheet

* Holds a national convention every even year.

==== State Affiliate: ====

* Each State will have it’s own bylaws and rules, often dictated by election law. Some states choose candidates through a caucus (aka convention) and some through a primary process (read more about the difference here).

* Many states do not have automatic ballot access, this can be a substantial barrier to entry for many candidates. Ballot access can depend on previous election results or require a petition with a certain number of signatures. Contact your state affiliate to discover ways to help.

* Many states are looking for volunteers, make sure you take a look at your state affiliate’s website to see how you can get involved.

==== County Affiliate: ====

* Like state affiliates, counties have their own bylaws and rules, so familiarize yourself with them.

* Your county may not be currently affiliated with your state LP, contact your State LP to find out how to start an affiliate.

* County affiliates often have regular meetings and community outreaches for members to attend.

* Counties will have their own Chair, Vice-Chair, and Treasurer, get involved to find if there is a position of need

* Your local candidates will often need help with ballot access, going door to door, putting up yard signs, etc.
